As lo-fi hip hop instrumentals seem to become increasingly popular, a handful of producers continue to excel in that realm. One of those is Jeff Alberts, whose recent EP, “I’m Like You Now,” is six tracks of smooth, laid back production full of wet, droning chords matched by lower tempo drums to give everything a delightfully lazy feel. With loops that feel endless, it’s easy to not have a care in the world while listening to this project, yet still wind up nodding along to the persistent beats.
