AUDIO: Deep Femme – “Hellgirl’s Hymnal”

It’s jangly, imperfect, and personal as all hell. The latest album from Deep Femme, “Hellgirl’s Hymnal” is full of angst and emotion, and it feels very authentic. The ten track project feels very DIY, but that helps convey the feelings of songs like “Seraph” and “Drexel Avenue Death Church Pt. 1”. With a full band backing singer/songwriter Charlotte Grey, there’s a depth to these tracks that doesn’t always come out in her solo shows. As Deep Femme continues to build as a group, undoubtedly we’ll get more tracks that feel like diary entries, complete with an even tighter, more polished sound. Check out “Hellgirl’s Hymnal” below:
