A young upstart band is destined to turn some heads this year, and they’re name is Retoro. The band’s debut EP was written while forming the band, and the self-titled release is four tracks of everything that feels like the acts that shaped punk rock. There’s elements of The Stooges, Velvet Underground, MC5 and more to their sound, and while that may sound like big shoes to fill, the band isn’t trying to be the next version of those acts at all. There’s a certain energy to their style, and you do hear them test the waters on tracks like “Untitled” and “Mr. Alligator”. While we only have four songs from the band, there’s a lot of promise in Retoro’s debut EP. Catch them if you can this summer, and check out the EP below:
