AUDIO: Violent Femmes – “Hotel Last Resort”
Milwaukee legends Violent Femmes have always prided themselves on being different. From their sound to their live show, to even the lengthy hiatus the band took from recording new music, the band has a unique flare to themselves that feels right in line with the city they once called home. The band is gearing up for the release of their 10th studio album, “Hotel Last Resort”, and today we get the title track, which features Television co-founder Tom Verlaine. In a time where pop singles are getting shorter and shorter, the band led their new release with a five-minute plus single, with a vocally wandering Gordon Gano sounding as intentionally as desperate as the song’s title would suggest. Verlaine adds a nice touch to the track, with a soloing guitar that fills in where Gano leaves off many times. “Hotel Last Resort” will be out on July 26th via [PIAS], but you can hear the new single below:
