Milwaukee artist and Vogel Park Records head Renz Young celebrated a birthday on Monday, and appropriately, dropped a pair of new tracks in celebration as well. Labeled as “MANTRA”, the mini-EP consists of “The Blessings” and “Pendants”. The first track has a luxurious feel to it, with a triumphant trumpet sample leading the beat, and Renz spitting with determination. The B-side is grittier, with the swagger coming more from Young’s verse than the production. The combination of tracks makes for a strong 1-2 punch, and serves as both a celebratory release and a reminder that Renz Young can drop at any time and almost assuredly put out a strong product.
