While it flies largely under the radar, Milwaukee has a solid hardcore scene, with many local acts putting out high-quality demos and EPs, largely on a DIY basis. The latest band to put out a debut project is Terrified Eyes, a five-piece outfit that brings the power on their “Winter Demo”. With a crisp, clear sound on four tracks, the band comes through with all the clarity of a punch square to the face. Songs like “Force Fed” are gems, with the right combination of trudging intensity and thrash-friendly speed sections. With some Milwaukee acts gaining traction nationally in the past, look for the hardcore scene to have a big year in 2019. Get a glimpse of that with Terrified Eyes’ “Winter Demo” below:
