AUDIO: Pretty Beggar – “Witness”
As Pretty Beggar work towards releasing their sophomore album, “Joy (And The Pursuit Of)”, we’ve noted that they’ve showed signs of shifting their sound with the singles that have been released weekly. On their latest, “Witness”, the band drop a definite mature-toned, energetic track that takes no prisoners along the way. If you’ve seen the band live, this song often closes out their set, and has already proven to be a crowd favorite. Frontman Michael Castle has a hip-hop leaning delivery on the verses of this track, and the overdubs that play into the hook and accent certain lines help give the song some depth. In many ways, the studio version feels a little more reserved, but also more in tune with what we’ve heard coming from the band recently. Check out “Witness” below:
