While having a significant following outside of the city already, Crystal Knives was one of the lesser known names when the initial list of Backline grant recipients were announced last month. However, since being announced as part of the program, word has gone around that the producer and EDM artist has spent as much time in the studio as possible, and we get to hear a couple samples of what he’s been up to with his new “Mannequin” EP. Featuring a title track with vocalist Casey Cook and “Don’t” with Jonah Baker, the pair of songs are stellar, and radio-ready. Both feature earworm hooks, and many, many more people are going to know the name Crystal Knives in the near future. You can catch him at Jawbreaker Festival this weekend, and check out the EP below:
