AUDIO: Lil Chicken – “Chicken Scratch”
It’s a big day for Milwaukee’s North side underground hip hop scene, as Chicken P, aka Lil Chicken, released his new album, “Chicken Scratch” via FCB Records. While the Milwaukee artist has made himself infamous via his video drops with TeeGlazedIt, we get to hear a full project from Chicken, who takes care of the majority of the album on his own. The only featured verse on the project comes from frequent collaborator Jigg, who makes a cameo on “Rock Wit U”. From the intro onward, you can hear Chicken locked into his signature flow, but creatively, there are some experiments, including plenty of autotune, a Neil Young sample flip on “Back N High School”, and lyrics that can get a little bit deeper than the typical trap rapper might get to. According to Chicken P, this is only volume one, but for now, check out “Chicken Scratch” below:
