Today is a big day for Ako, as they release their second project, “Everything Is OK”. The follow up to their debut release, “And You”, the new release is four tracks of twangy indie pop. Now officially a duo (with an expanding band for live shows), the EP shows off the songwriting of frontwoman Gabby Powell and drummer Mark Soriano. The band draws influence from groups like Paramore and Best Coast, and that comes out in the songs on “Everything Is Ok”. Led by single, “The One”, this a step forward for a group that was showing their potential on their debut, but finding their sound now. Check out “Everything Is Ok” below:
