Surgeons In Heat are a band that manages to grow and adjust with every release. The band are back with a new album, “Bored Immortals”, and sound pristine as ever with their brand of cool, downtempo indie rock. Landing somewhere in a Venn diagram between shoegaze and cookie-cutter pop, the album is loaded with well-crafted songs that can both uplift and drag you through the doldrums at the same time. It is not, however, a boring record, despite the title’s suggestions. If there’s a way to be both uplifting and downtrodden at the same time, “Bored Immortals” is the soundtrack to that feeling.
