It’s generally assumed that when a new band puts out a debut project, there’s a little bit of leeway given for the band’s youth as a collective. However, the debut EP from Milwaukee’s Sundial Mottos needs no room for error, as the band have crafted five well written and performed tracks that fit effortlessly with one another. The songs show tremendous potential for a very new band, almost feeling like a head start for a quartet that doesn’t need it. There’s a lot of fuzzy, buzzy indie rock being made in Milwaukee, but Sundial Mottos have a certain way of going about their sound that could cut through all of that to make a big impact locally and beyond.
