Hugh Bob and the Hustle

The combination of alternative rock and country doesn’t come about too often, but that’s exactly what we have in this week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week: Hugh Bob and the Hustle. Formerly known as The Wildbirds, which in their own right was a somewhat successful venture, the band decided to re-brand it’s image and slightly change it’s sound. Since then, they’ve seen even more success as a result. They’ve received steady radio play on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, as well as FM 1021, and as of late more country media outlets are taking notice to their work. One of their most recent successes is being included on CMT’s artist pages, part of the MTV umbrella of music networks. With a recent trip to Nashville, as well as having their debut album listed among JSOnline’s Top 10 Milwaukee albums of 2012, things are looking nowhere but upward for this band.
