AUDIO: Match Stick – “Out of the Darkness”
Jazz fusion band Match Stick have a new record out this week. It’s over an hour long and features ten tracks, all giving a unique experience of the four musicians here listening to one another with precision and intention. They take the time to get a feel for melody and atmosphere before gradually building into something that bursts with color and personality – sometimes for over seven minutes. The likes of seasoned Milwaukee musicians Tomas Antonic, Steve Peplin, Mitch Shiner and Nick Lang calibrate one another until the achieve monumental synergy with “Out of the Darkness.”
