Singer-songwriter E.B. Albeit trades in dub drums for electronic sounds and banjo-driven folk melody in “Magic Banjo.” The three songs-EP combined trap beats, pop rhythms, violin and banjos to make an unexpected but satisfying cross between several genres. “Last Chance” is a tried and true folk song where a violin leads trap-like beats and fades into reggae chords at the end, high electronic sounds prevail in “Retreat!” and “Little Birdie” mixes metal drums with a country stomp-and-clap beat. Albeit established himself as a talented dub artist before, but the willingness to hop to a new genre and master it in a short time is enthralling.
