Gambian Afro-pop heavyweight Jizzle is back in the frame, and this time he’s going small on the title but big on the visuals. Born Jerreh Jallow, Jizzle has been steadily building a catalog that stretches across West Africa and beyond, weaving multiple local languages into his signature Afro-pop hybrid. Since dropping his debut project “The Next Big Thing” in 2018 — the same year he took home Wah Sah Halat Artist of the Year — he’s put out a run of well-received bodies of work, including “Finally” (2019), “Scorpi” (2020), “Scorpi Vol. 2” (2021), and his 2023 full-length “Me Vs Me.” He also picked up an All Africa Music Awards nomination for Best Artist back in 2016, which, for those keeping score at home, is not a bad résumé line.

“Micro” continues Jizzle’s habit of pairing melodic hooks with confident, understated swagger. The Ocean Legacy Cinematic treatment leans into moody framing and clean, high-contrast color work — the kind of visual polish that has quietly become a hallmark of the Gambian scene’s newer wave of releases.
