Milwaukee’s own Kieran Porter just dropped a new groove to kick off your week. “Night Away,” released on May 11, finds the Riverwest regular teaming up with producer thejackster3000 for a moody, mid-tempo cut that clocks in at just under four minutes.

At 110 BPM with a danceability factor that puts it squarely in head-nod territory, “Night Away” trades the disco glitter Porter brings to his work with Bee Gees tribute act Night Fever MKE for something more introspective. The track leans into melancholic textures—think low-lit energy with enough groove to keep you moving, but not quite enough to shake off whatever’s on your mind.

Porter has been quietly building his presence in the Milwaukee scene, popping up at spots like Linneman’s Riverwest Inn with his own band alongside acts like Cosmic Lovechild and Shell Bells. He’s also set to open for Torcado at The Cooperage later this spring. “Night Away” feels like a natural evolution for an artist comfortable wearing multiple hats—tribute band showman by night, introspective songwriter by, well, also night apparently.
