Milwaukee’s own Kia Rap Princess wants to know how you’re doing—and frankly, we’re doing a lot better now that her new EP is here.

The local hip-hop heavyweight dropped “I’m KRP baby, tell me how are You?” on May 1st, a four-track project that showcases exactly why she’s been a fixture in MKE’s rap scene for years. The lead track “No Frontin'” clocks in at just over two minutes of pure, unapologetic energy, with enough bounce to get any room moving.

For those unfamiliar, Kia Rap Princess has been putting in work across Milwaukee stages from Cactus Club to Pridefest’s Dance Pavilion at the Summerfest Grounds. She’s earned props from Radio Milwaukee, and pretty much anyone paying attention to the city’s hip-hop pulse. Her blend of sharp-tongued rap delivery with smooth R&B sensibilities has always set her apart, and this latest release is no exception.

The production on this EP hits that sweet spot—energetic enough to soundtrack your weekend but with enough grit to remind you this isn’t background music. It’s a proper introduction (or reintroduction) for anyone sleeping on what Milwaukee hip-hop has to offer.
