We filmed Kingfishr in the ruins of a small stone church outside Dublin. The wind, the setting, the song, it was just perfect. No setup could’ve done more than what was already there.

Gloria is a beautiful song that sounds like memory, or maybe myth, like something passed down rather than written.

Kingfishr are part of a new wave of irish folk artists who feel less like revival and more like rootedness. Bands like Amble, Moncrieff, Kingfishr, Hansard, Dermot.
