There’s beauty in the process, and that’s what Field Report’s Chris Porterfield and Chris Rosneau of Collections of Colonies of Bees have documented on their new project, “Piano Lessons.” With only 25 minutes or so to write each song in a tuning that they had never experimented with before, the duo capture the art of songwriting at its purest. The songs were recorded on a front porch, with only the time that Rosneau’s daughter was at her piano lessons to make something from start to finish. These are the building blocks of a song, put together over a full summer, and the end result are these 10 tracks. Check out the album here:
