Von Alexander is back in business, and very much back in his bag on his newest release, “Heathen.” The project has eight tracks, but the intro might hit the hardest, telling you that music doesn’t do anybody any good if it’s just sitting on a hard drive. With that in mind, Von seems re-energized, and he brings technically gifted verses over beats that feel just right for where Von lives sonically. We also get appearances from Camb and Zolton on the back half of the record, with “Diva” and “Searching,” respectively. Von Alexander is back, and he’s here to put people on notice.
