AUDIO: North Ship – “It Looked Like Rain”

I just listened to North Ship’s new album, “It Looked Like Rain,” and wow, it’s something to write home about! The duo from Copenhagen, Tom Golzen and Francis Nørgaard Jensen, have really outdone themselves with this one.

The album starts with the title track, “It Looked Like Rain.” It’s super atmospheric and pulls you in right away. Tom’s voice is compelling, and the guitar work is really intricate. Plus, Francis’s drumming ties everything together perfectly. This song sets the stage for the rest of the album.

“Green Light” is one of my favorites. It’s experimental and catchy at the same time. The beats and layers of sound are really cool and show how North Ship likes to push boundaries. “Trickster” is another great track, with its melancholic melodies and deep lyrics. It’s clear the band has put a lot of emotion into this one.

The album was produced by Thomas Li, who has worked with some big names, and mastered by Chris Kimsey, who used to work with The Rolling Stones. The production quality is top-notch, capturing the raw energy of North Ship’s live shows while still sounding polished.
