Emo rockers Barely Civil have unleashed their third full-length album into the world. While the band’s previous albums were written with a heavy focus on posing existential and vulnerable questions, this album produces answers to some such questions. Much of the material here is inspired by mass radicalization and disillusionment brought on by COVID times. Recorded over the last year, “I’d Say I’m Not Fine” emotively confronts the exhaustive, suffocating nature of capitalist work culture and keeping your head barely above water.
