Ambient-electronic artist Crone released a new album a few weeks back. Inspired by the mysterious landscapes of fantasy video games from the PS2 days, this album teems with nostalgic lore. Synths with medieval and magical touches wander off the beaten path into buried secrets and prophetic mysticism, like the side quests and Easter Eggs in games you spent hours trying to solve. Crone’s “Mossen Keep” harkens to classic role-playing adventures that take you through castles, hills, dungeons and forests, providing the listener a liberating sense of antic and crusade.
