Strehlow is back with more new music, and he blends together the worlds of lo-fi and house with “Skins.” With serene synths, there’s a feeling of overwhelming calm that comes over this track, later driven by a persistent drum loop that will get you moving. Flipping what sounds like a vocal sample into a repetitive core element of the track only adds to the atmosphere of it all, giving you two and a half minutes of sonic bliss. Strehlow has been out of the studio lately, but is gearing up for more after some time off to travel, and “Skins” feels like a good precursor of what’s in store. Check it out here:
