Electronic producer MallBat released a new EP. She brings six tracks each with their own colorful pops, stylistically ranging from a neon-twee dreamscape (“As It Is”) to lounge-adjacent downtempo (“The Itch”) to tranquil psychedelia at a walking pace (“My Big Shoes”). MallBat’s music is rooted in many ponds while unconfined by expectations, surpassing a genre-specific palette in favor of individually imaginative or thematic evocations, and “I’ve Got Big Shoes” is a finely tuned installment of her creative vision.
