AUDIO: MIZZY – “Time of Death”
MIZZY have released their debut EP. It’s two tracks that each span about seven and a half minutes, bringing plenty of shadowy, watery soundscapes. Marrying elements of shoegaze and grunge in a most textural blend, MIZZY demonstrate their versatility in commanding the energy whether it’s with oceanic introspection (“Missing”) or headbanging catharsis (“Glass”). “Time of Death” is named for the tragic news samples that arrive in the last third of “Glass.” MIZZY have a uniquely caliginous edge to them, and we look forward to seeing how they’ll build from here.
