Great Lakes-based Alex Takton’s latest EP is a short but sweet love letter to southern rap with some G-Funk influences with themes that revolve around swagger and being an eligible bachelor. That’s evident with songs like “I Need a Mrs. Takton” and “Make You Feel Alive,” where Mr. Takton courts an unnamed woman in back-to-back songs. Regardless, the EP wraps up with a song about Takton’s positive mindset with “Things Are Finally Looking Up.”
