There’s a certain amount of soul that comes through in HellKat’s delivery, and that comes across on his recently-dropped EP, “Banned From The Pool.” Over the course of five tracks, HellKat keeps it real, talking about financial strife, getting back to the streets, and grinding to make his money. Aside from a feature from Genesis Renji on opener “Right Now,” HellKat holds his own in the spotlight with solo tracks on this release. “Banned From The Pool” talks about some real topics, but comes across with the smoothness of some mood music along the way. It’s a solid outing, especially from an artist that is starting to carve his name into the Milwaukee music scene. Check it out here:
