With a sound straight from the streets, MarijuanaXO doesn’t really sound like an artist concerned with the mainstream. He raps “I’m so 100 that I can’t change” on “Moon Shine,” the opener to recent tape “Windshield Tinted,” and you can get that feeling by listening to his flow and beat selection. Incorporating elements of Milwaukee’s underground sound with more traditional hip hop, XO is talking about running through the trap with ease, taking out anyone that gets in his way. There’s finesse to the verses on this tape, deviating from the dime-a-dozen street rap style. “Windshield Tinted” is the staggering eighth project from MarijuanaXO in 2022, along with a litany of singles, so there’s a lot more where this comes from.
