AUDIO: Nelson Devereaux – “Zones”
A lot that can come from isolation, whether that be the physical sense or the musical ideology. Nelson Devereaux is willing to explore that on “Zones,” his latest release. The experimental album features predominantly solo woodwind performances from Devereaux’s saxophones and clarinets, often layered together to give the compositions some depth. Mixing analog and digital, post-production effects get utilized to make these compositions sound even roomier, or to create sonic spaces and textures to play with.
