The new names to the R&B scene are building momentum, and that includes Calebe, who has a strong new project with “Back In July.” The eight-track release contains songs that mostly clock in under three minutes, but hit with the most effectiveness possible. There’s songs about attracting the right girl, loving someone, and contemplating relationships, all delivered with the confidence of a promising young artist. The production is dark and hazy, and that creates the mood of the whole project. It feels like a summer night spent longing for love, and Calebe has an earnest approach about his verses that feels like the emotional attachment is sincere. Check out “Back In July” below:
