VIDEO: Mr. Nice Guy with Angelus Bailey
Our Music Director, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.
Today, Ben sat down with mixed media artist, DJ, filmmaker and photographer Angelus Bailey, whose debut feature documentary “A Sense of Humor” is about the West Coast underground comedy scene coping with the effects of the pandemic. He grew up in southeastern Wisconsin before relocating to LA in the 2000’s. They discussed Angelus’ origins being creative through wordplay as a kid, DJing around southeastern Wisconsin in the 90’s, relocating to LA, interviewing 120 comics for the doc, and his plans to release the doc in due time.
