AUDIO: The Sublime Perfect Masters – “Explore the Circle of Fifths”
The Sublime Perfect Masters, a collective of tenured Milwaukee musicians, released a three-hour experimental album recently. Here, they travel clockwise around the Western twelve-tone scale with each track being fifteen minutes long and consisting of only two droning notes. Eventually, they end up back where they started; the fifth of one track becomes the root note in the next. It’s a gentle exhibition of minimalist structure, perfect to accompany meditative activities. The musicians of The Sublime Perfect Masters are Adam Krause, Shawn Stephany, Andy Eshbaugh, Erin Wolf, Marielle Allschwang, Michael Jantz, John Forgery, Zaq Lewis, Ken Palme, and Mark Waldoch.
