AUDIO: Guerrilla Ghost – “Summertime ’86”

Guerrilla Ghost have a new tune out, and they take things in a new sonic direction for themselves on “Summertime ’86.” The track, unlike just about anything in the Guerrilla Ghost catalog, is upbeat and has flares of retro funk to it. The lyrics, however, are just as politically charged as ever, with lines about police brutality and injustice being somewhat masked by the more palatable 808s and synth tones. It’s a great subversive piece of work that’s catchy, yet still has a purpose. Check out the single below:
