It takes a certain type of artist to be able to flip a children’s rhyme into something new, and Chakara Blu does exactly that on her latest, “Cookie Jar.” The hook is child’s play, but Blu’s verses are anything but, bringing a tough presence to the microphone and not holding back any swagger when she gets to spitting.
