VIDEO: Mr. Nice Guy with Barry Paul Clark (Adoptahighway)

Our Music Director, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.

Today, Ben talks to experimental electronic composer and upright bassist Barry Paul Clark, who makes music under Adoptahighway; his latest record “Coaxing A Ghost Into the Room” came out in November. He also plays in Field Report, Tontine Ensemble, Lady Cannon, Tony Catania Trio, and Argopelter. They discussed Barry’s navigation of classical and electronic music when he was younger, Adoptahighway’s new record, his latest composition for “Migration of Gestures”, what shows will look like post-quarantine, and the New York lifestyle.
