Stancilboi is a new hip hop artist coming out of the city, and his new track, “Butterflies”, firmly establishes him within the Milwaukee music scene. The track features some contemporary trap production, and is built around a hook that loosely (probably unintentionally) interpolates The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.” The track is aimed at a girl, but also stands out because it shows just a bit of vulnerability, straying from just about every hip hop stereotype. It’s a great initial offering, and we’ll be looking for more from Stancilboi in the future. Check out the track below:
