Harsh noise project Phoned Nil Trio (Neil Gravander, Dan Schierl, and Peter J. Woods) are back with a bird-themed record. Passages about pigeons and cassowaries take us through plenty of buzzes and fuzzes carried out by some of Milwaukee’s noise pioneers. Street audio samples, radio broadcasts, and jarring sonic blasts encompass the fifth track, which lasts over nine minutes. Phoned Nil Trio is one of Woods’ numerous outfits on the Milwaukee-based noise label FTAM, which he owns and operates. RIP A Bird.
