AUDIO: Devil Met Contention – “Wait”

Every release feels like a step in a new direction for Milwaukee’s Devil Met Contention, and that’s once again the case for the band with their latest EP, “Wait”. The band shines on this new four-track release, which is marked by gripping guitar parts and accented by synths throughout. There’s certain records that just make you feel cool listening to it, and tracks like “Neighborhood Lights” and the reverb-drenched “New York” certainly do that. The vocals feel slightly more dramatic this time around, a byproduct of the melodies that they’re crafted around. In a way, there are sonic elements reminiscent of David Bowie records, but they feel right with the band incorporating them into their sound. Devil Met Contention continue to push themselves forward, and you can hear that by checking out “Wait” below:
