VIDEO: Mr. Nice Guy With Pete Freeman
One of our contributors, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.
Today, Ben talks to singer-songwriter Pete Freeman, whose debut record “Wisconsin Stories” came out about a year ago. His most recent single “Song About Nothing” came out on Halloween. They discussed Pete’s move from Frederick, Maryland to Milwaukee for school, his casual guitar playing becoming more serious, the debut record, Milwaukee’s issues from a social worker’s point of view, and his new record “Meat and Potatoes” coming out in a month.
