The story of south side rapper GP El Magico is not unlike that of thousands of Latinos within the United States. Born in Mexico, and later relocating to Dallas at age 2 before ultimately landing on Milwaukee at age 14, Magico was raised on traditional Mexican music before finding hip hop within the city. With that in mind, that heritage is proudly on display in his video for “La Vida”, a track that emphasizes his upbringing and pride. The video is extremely relevant in these tough times, where many Latinos are facing scrutiny, deportation and worse at the hands of ICE and the current administration. “La Vida” is an important release from the south side artist, and you can check out the video below:
