There are plenty of hungry names within the Milwaukee hip hop scene, and Mr.Lloyd is among the current pack of artists looking to separate themselves from the rest. He makes a conscious effort to do that on his debut album, “The Introduction of Mr.Lloyd”. While many albums can sound like a collection of loose tracks, you can hear Lloyd’s intention to put together a cohesive project from start to finish on this record, with a collection of dark, mainstream-influenced beats to rhyme over. Lyrically, there’s a hunger in Lloyd on the microphone, and that comes out in his verses. Like most debut releases, things are a little rough around the edges at times, but there are plenty of bright spots to offset the minor faults, and there’s plenty of potential for Mr.Lloyd to make a name for himself.
