While it may not be the dominant sound in Milwaukee at the moment, there’s definitely a market for lyrical, skilled hip hop in the city. That’s where acts like local duo Higher Power thrive, and you can hear that on the group’s latest album, “Cthulhu”, which was released on New Year’s Day. This is the duo’s sixth album, and sonically moves based on elements of backpack rap, horrorcore, and electronica. With eleven tracks of dark, brooding hip hop, and features from artists like Insane Poetry, Cassie, Haze, Underrated, and King Iso, this project comes to you direct from the underground.
