AUDIO: JWoods (1945) – “W.A.Y.”
If 2018 has taught us anything about Milwaukee music, it’s that the next generation of artists are eagerly scratching and scraping to make their name known, and they’re putting out strong music in the process. One of those artists is JWoods (1945), a young rapper that matches a strong flow with contemporary hip hop styles. With a sound that seems to mix influences from more lyrical acts to Soundcloud-friendly trap, Woods puts a solid introduction together with his latest project, “W.A.Y.”. While he has some tracks that seem light lyrically, but focus more on swagger (see “Stuck”), he is able to come right back with a song like “People Of Other” that can appeal to a different crowd of hip hop fans altogether. JWoods (1945) is finding his sound, but you can tell that there is strong potential with “W.A.Y.”. Check out the EP below:
