New names emerge in the Milwaukee music scene almost weekly, and one of the latest to come out of nowhere is Understaan. While some tracks were out on the internet, his new EP, “Hearbreak On A Thursday”, is where we really get a sense of the young artist’s sound, which blends contemporary trap beats with an inspired flow. With only three tracks, this is merely a glimpse into the future, but it is a bright one. Understaan takes to the mic with ease, and a feature Alpha Quinn on “Hate Love” shows that he isn’t alone, as well. The future of Milwaukee hip hop is alive and well, and you can hear it on “Heartbreak On A Thursday” below:
