Taiyamo Denku is simply one of those artists who truly embodies hip hop with everything that they do. That comes out in his latest single, “Mr. Sunshine” featuring Toronto emcee Saukrates. As Denku points out in the lyrics, the sunshine in question is only an illusion, in this case used as a metaphor for the cloud of mumble rap and tracks without substance taking over the landscape of hip hop today. Denku and Saukrates look to provide some sunshine for those looking for reprieve in the form of real hip hop, and they do so with a pair of veteran verses reminiscent of a different era of music.
