Direct Hit! are back, and from the sound of things, they’re making more epic sounding music than ever before. While still rooted in still pop punk, the band have expanded their sound on their latest single. Within four minutes, “Welcome To Heaven” takes you on a journey, from a slowed down intro to mass panic and back again. The animated video from Walker Dubois and Maddie Brewer is a surreal comic book that takes you from heaven to hell with a more than fitting soundtrack. This is a big step in a new direction for Direct Hit!, and we’ll hear more when their new album, “Crown Of Nothing” comes out this November on Fat Wreck Chords.
