2018 Lollapalooza Preview
It’s the heart of summer festival season in the Midwest, as thousands will descend upon Grant Park in Chicago starting tomorrow for Lollapalooza 2018. This year’s lineup is filled with a variety of great acts, ranging from emerging artists to big name headliners. Be sure to follow Breaking And Entering on Snapchat and Instagram for daily updates, and check out our day-by-day preview below:
Thursday, August 2nd
Arctic Monkeys and Travis Scott headline, giving both indie and hip hop fans something to rejoice over. Emerging hip hop acts seem to be the most notable of the day however, with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, as well as Chicago artists Valee, G Herbo, and Supa Bwe all looking like solid shows. Look for fun sets from Franz Ferdinand and Chvrches, as well.
Friday, August 3rd
Another stacked duo of headliners, with Bruno Mars on one end of the grounds, and The National on the other. Friday is also filled with sets from Tyler, The Creator, boy band hearthrobs Brockhampton, rockers Greta Van Fleet and Welshly Arms, and Lizzo on the same lineup. Also look for a well-received breakout performance from Chicago native Taylor Bennett, who oh by the way just happens to be Chance The Rapper’s brother.
Saturday, August 4th
You can choose how to start your weekend, with both The Weeknd and Vampire Weekend headlining (please tell me that booking was on purpose). Looking at the rest of the day’s lineup, you can expect a repeat of last year’s Lil Yachty craziness on the Tito’s stage with Lil Pump performing this year. Goldlink also looks to be an exciting show, as well as indie pop singer morgxn. There’s been a lot of buzz around A R I Z O N A and Sir Sly, too.
Sunday, August 5th
Jack White, Odesza, Lil Uzi Vert, and Portugal. The Man close out the festival, but Sunday brings a lot of solid picks to the park as well. Gucci Mane and Playboi Carti both play that day, and Chromeo looks to be entertaining too. Also look for great sets from Manchester Orchestra, Knox Fortune, and young indie rockers The Regrettes as well.
