Huey V has talent, and he plans to use it for the greater good. His tracks deal with real life issues, and on his latest, “Numb”, he tackles the reality of addiction. Produced by Eestbound, the track is incredibly personable, with a harsh narrative of pill-popping dissonance. The song is actually written from the perspective of a pill, with lines like “you hate that you can’t live without me” sprinkled into the verses. The song is also part of Huey V’s upcoming debut mixtape, which includes the continuation of the narrative from this song. It’s an interesting approach to putting a real life spin on topics many people only hear the glorification of, especially in hip hop as of late. Check out “Numb” below:
